Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are taking today to be with your family, to eat too much, and to spend some time reflecting on everything you have to be grateful for.
I want to take a moment to talk about turkey. Every year, the President “pardons” a turkey, letting one lucky bird run free instead of ending up in someone’s kitchen. The funny thing is, the turkey has no idea how narrowly he missed being served up with a side of stuffing and potatoes. To him, it’s just another great day in turkey world.
But what most of us don’t realize is that for us, every day is “turkey pardoning” day–we just don’t know what we’ve been pardoned from. Every day we don’t get in a car accident, find out a loved one is ill, lose our jobs—it’s turkey pardoning! We’re Living the Dream!
Sometimes all it takes to be thankful is to remember that we’re blessed to have another normal day in our lives. Today, we are on top of the world and Living the Dream, just like that turkey.
Whether it’s something that you’re thankful for today? I’d love it if you shared it with me in an email or a comment below.
